Two Individuals Charged with Prison Murder of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder after the jailhouse death of former Lostprophets singer and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 now face murder accusations and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per police authorities.

Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes among them the effort to sexually assault an infant.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were taken as evidence.
